Fit & Compatibility
These questions arise from users curious about the product's capabilities, features, and basic operation. They are commonly asked before/after purchase, during setup, and in daily use to understand what the product can do and how to use it.
1. Does M5 work with grommet curtains?
Yes — the M5 is fully compatible with grommet curtains. The rings glide smoothly through, so your curtains keep their natural drape.
2. Is M5 center-open only?
Yes. The M5 is designed for center-opening — your curtains open from the middle to both sides, in one smooth motion.
3. How heavy can my curtains be?
The M5 handles curtains up to 15 kg (33 lbs) — which covers tall windows and most heavy drapes with ease.
4. Do these work with S-fold or Ripplefold curtains?
Not directly. However, if you have grommet curtains, you can use the included Curtain Spacer Chain to shape the folds, giving you a very similar S-fold look.
Size & Installation
This section addresses specific questions that arise when users encounter issues during installation or everyday use. The goal is to resolve concrete problems that may be preventing the product from functioning correctly.
5. How do I choose between L and XL?
Choose based on your window width:
Size L: fits 44"–82"
Size XL: fits 74"–142"
6. What size curtain rings or grommets does it fit?
The M5 fits curtain rings and grommets with a 1.6" (40mm) inner diameter. Since 1.6" is the standard size for most mainstream grommet curtains on the market, they will fit perfectly in almost all cases. We also include custom curtain rings in the box, so you're fully covered. If you use your own grommet curtains, just make sure they are 1.6" or larger; otherwise, they won't fit over the curtain rod.
7. Can I install it myself?
Yes — it's DIY-friendly. Scan the QR code in the manual for a step-by-step video. For tracks over 2 m (78"), we recommend a 2-person installation.
8. When do I actually need to use 3 mounting brackets?
If your curtain track is over 79'' (2 meters) long, it's highly recommended to put a third bracket right in the middle to keep the track from sagging or bending.
Everyday Use
These issues are not caused by hardware malfunctions or standalone functional failures of the smart curtain itself. Instead, they stem from incompatibility, synchronization errors, or abnormal behaviors that occur during connection, communication, data syncing, or command interpretation with external smart home ecosystems (like Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, and Google Home).
9. What happens if power or Wi-Fi goes out?
Power outage: operate manually, like regular curtains.
Wi-Fi outage: control via the included Bluetooth remote, or use the manual tug-to-start feature.
10. How loud is the M5 in real use?
Very quiet. In our tests (4 m track with a 15 kg curtain), the noise level is ≤ 45 dB measured from 1 meter away — about the sound of a quiet library.
11. Do I need a hub?
No hub required. The M5 operates independently, without any smart hub.
12. Which smart-home platforms are supported at launch?
Highly recommended: Apple Home and the REZE FLOW app.
Also compatible: Amazon Alexa and Google Home.
13. Why can't I pair a 6th remote to my curtain?
This is by design. A single curtain motor maxes out at 5 paired remotes.
14. Can I set a schedule? For example, automatically open the curtains at 7 AM and close them at 8 PM?
Yes, but it depends on your smart home platform. The M5 is a Matter device, so scheduling is managed directly by your smart home platform. Currently, Apple Home and Amazon Alexa offer the best support for scheduling.
(1) For Apple or Alexa users (Recommended):
You can easily set schedules, including "Open at Sunrise / Close at Sunset" routines.
① Requirement: You need a Matter Hub for your platform (e.g., HomePod mini, Apple TV, or Echo device). Schedules are stored and processed on the hub.
② How to set it up: Go to the "Automation" (Apple) or "Routines" (Alexa) page in your app → Tap "+" / Create → Select "Time of Day" as the trigger → Select the M1 Curtain and set the action (e.g., "Open" or "Open to 50%").
(2) For Google Home users:
We apologize, but the Google Home platform does not currently support scheduling for curtains/blinds within its "Routines". You can use voice commands via Google speakers (e.g., "Hey Google, open the blinds"), but you cannot set automated schedules in the Google Home App at this time.
